Patio
remedial
work

We conducted remedial works on a patio laid by a previous contractor.

The patio was executed to a poor standard with uneven cuts, damaged tiles and no fall in parts. Remedial works focused on eliminating damaged and poorly cut tiles by utilising an overstock of block pavers to create a border around the patio and steps, wrapping around the property.

Images below show before and after pictures of the work undertaken.

Programme Schedule 2026

    1. Conducted a full inspection of the existing patio installed by the previous contractor to identify defects including uneven tile cuts, damaged materials and inadequate drainage due to lack of fall in certain areas.

    2. Marked and recorded all areas containing poorly cut tiles, cracked or damaged units and sections where the finished level did not allow for appropriate water runoff.

    3. Carefully removed all damaged tiles and sections with substandard workmanship without disturbing surrounding sound areas where possible.

    4. Prepared exposed areas to ensure a suitable base for reinstatement works, making good any inconsistencies to support new finishes.

    5. Utilised overstock block pavers to form a continuous border around the perimeter of the patio and steps, eliminating poor tile cuts and improving the overall visual finish.

    6. Extended the block paver border to wrap around the property, ensuring continuity and a cohesive finish throughout all patio and step areas.

    7. Adjusted levels where required to introduce appropriate falls, improving surface water drainage and preventing pooling.

    8. Completed all pointing, jointing and finishing works to ensure a consistent and durable surface throughout the patio area.

    9. Carried out a final inspection to ensure all remedial works met acceptable standards of workmanship and appearance prior to completion.
